Volunteer Planting Day

The International Peace Garden regularly hosts volunteer planting days, especially in late spring and early summer when the gardens are being prepared for the season.

These events usually involve:

  • Planting annual flowers across the formal beds
  • Light landscaping and garden prep
  • Working alongside horticulture staff and other volunteers

They’re designed to be beginner-friendly—no gardening experience needed—and tools are typically provided. It’s also a pretty social, relaxed atmosphere with a strong community vibe.

If you’re planning to go, it’s smart to:

  • Dress for outdoor work (layers + gloves if you have them)
  • Bring water and sunscreen
