Nestled in the Turtle Mountains on the border of US and Canada, the International Peace Garden campsites are surrounded by woodlands, prairie, lakes, formal gardens, and newly expanded Conservatory.

Campsites are tailored to your preference, offering Pull-Thru, a convenient dump station, ELEC/WATER, and ELEC ONLY options. With a total of 30 sites, including 13 with full hook-ups and 16 with electricity only, you’ll find the perfect spot to reconnect with the great outdoors.

Amenities abound to enhance your camping experience, including fire pits, and available firewood for those cozy evenings under the stars. Bring your furry friends along as pets are welcome, and enjoy modern comforts with showers and toilets. Whether you prefer tenting or RV camping, we have dedicated areas for both, including a group camping space.

Our on-site services elevate your stay with a picturesque picnic area, dining options, and a store for any essentials you may need. Explore the peaceful waters with watercraft rentals available, adding a touch of adventure to your retreat.

Gate Admission Fees

Campground fees do not include Gate Admission Fees. Gate Admission fee to the International Peace Garden can be purchased online with your camping reservation.

$10 per person per day

$50 Annual Membership (unlimited visits and the membership is per vehicle)

General Information

• Family-Friendly
• Advanced reservations suggested, but not required
• Check out time is 12:00 Noon
• No three or four-wheel ATVs or motorized dirt bikes are allowed anywhere in the Peace Gardens.
• Most pets are welcomed. Pets must be kept on a leash, and owners pick-up after them.
• Small campfires are allowed, if the fire index is moderate or below as indicated by the ND Forest Service. Please practice fire safety. Never leave fires unattended. No Fireworks are allowed in the campgrounds.
• Call the office (1-888-432-6733) for reservation cancellations.
• Only one camping unit is permitted per site. If space allows, an additional tent and/or dining tent may be set up on the campsite for use by those identified on the permit.
• Each site is allowed up to two vehicles or four motorcycles in addition to camper unit. Do not park vehicles in other campsites or on the roads. Any additional vehicles will need to be parked in designated parking lots.

• Pay telephones are located by the east restroom facility at the campground and at the seasonal public restroom in the Formal Garden area.
• An emergency weather shelter is available in the basement of the Quentin Burdick Performing Arts Center at the Music Camp.  The staff will attempt to keep campers informed of pending extreme weather conditions.
• A sewage dump station is located west of the east restroom facility.
• Garbage and recycling bins are located near the campgrounds.
• Gasoline is not available at the Peace Garden. The nearest source of gasoline is Kelvin Klinic, located approximately 4 miles south of the International Peace Garden.

Reservations & cancellations
  • Reservations can be made online or by calling the office at 1-888-432-6733, Reservations are encouraged but walk-ins will be allowed if space permits.
  • Payment in full is required to confirm reservations.
  • All campers must register when they arrive at the International Peace Garden. If you have a reservation, be prepared to present your confirmation letter at the gatehouse upon check-in. If you have a reservation and the Peace Garden gatehouse is closed, you may report to your assigned space but you must check in at the gatehouse by 10 am the next morning. If you do not have a reservation and the Peace Garden gate house is closed when you arrive, you may proceed to the campground and select an open site that does not have a “Reserved” sign posted. You must check in at the gatehouse by 10 am the next morning to pay your fees and report your campsite number.
  • Cancellations made 7 or more days in advance of arrival will receive a full refund less a $5.00 reservation service fee. Cancellations made less than 7 days to stay will be charged 1 night camping fee plus the $5.00 reservation fee.  Cancellation on or after the day of arrival or not notifying us that you are unable to camp results in the forfeiture of all fees.
  • Changes to reservations regarding dates may be allowed, dependent on availability. However, changes made less than 7 days of arrival date that involves a later arrival will be subject to an additional non-refundable nightly camping fee.
  • Refunds will be processed by the original method of payment.
  • If an annual pass is sent out before you cancel a reservation you WILL NOT get a refund on the pass.
Border Crossings

Prior to arriving at the gate entrance to the International Peace Garden, visitors will drive past the USA Port of Entry or the Canadian Port of Entry. You are no longer in either of these two countries.

Departing the International Peace Garden, a stop is required at the Port of Entry, of the country your wish to enter. Border Services will record identification on vehicle passengers. A passport is the preferred document and will help to expedite the process. If you are a USA or CDN citizen and do not have a passport, a photo ID such as your driver’s license is acceptable.
