What’s In Bloom?

Updated: 7-2-26

The peonies started blooming within the last week, and while the rain has weighed down some of the flowers, there will still be plenty more blooming in the next couple weeks.

Many of the bearded irises are on the tail end of their bloom periods, but the Siberian irises have started to show their colors. The lupines are still blooming, but are on their own decline. Many of the roses have started blooming, including some shrub roses along some of the sidewalks.

New flowers this week include Alexander loosestrife, perennial geranium, false sunflowers, Maltese cross, and the first of the delphiniums. Perennials still blooming from previous weeks include shasta daisies, salvia, globeflower (specifically ‘New Moon’), and the last of the shrub lilacs.

I’m seeing new buds forming on the echinacea, hostas, tree lilacs, queen of the prairie, lilies, and daylilies. We can expect to see those flowers in the coming weeks.
