90th anniversary

July 29-31, 2022

In 1928, Dr. Henry J. Moore of Islington, Ontario had a big, wild idea. A horticulturist and a teacher, he envisioned a ‘place of peace’ in the form of a beautiful garden on the border of the United States and Canada to celebrate friendship. This dreamer worked with the National Association of Gardeners and in 1932, his grand concept – a garden spanning the border of two countries and two governments — opened to the public. This summer we will celebrate the 90th anniversary of Dr. Moore’s vision – and this unique garden grounded in peace.

Join us to celebrate a vision realized and a long, peaceful friendship between nations. The weekend of July 29-31 will bring the music, artists, food, fireworks and people of our two nations together to celebrate this historic and beautiful gem.

Friday, July 29

  • 10:00 am Standing Rock Sioux Tribe Flag Ceremony
  • 6:00pm – Taste of 1932 Dinner
  • 8:00 pm – 10:00 pm
    International Music Camp concert

Saturday, July 30

  • 10:00 am – 4:00 pm – Artist and Food Vendors
    • A variety of vendors from Manitoba and North Dakota. Forbidden Flavours will
      be serving coffee roasted in Brandon, MB, specialty hot and cold beverages
      and ice cream! Weiming Zhao, an artist out of Brandon, MB will be painting
      throughout the day and throughout the garden! A bounce house for the kids
      to enjoy will be located here as well.
  • 11:00 am – Children’s Nature Play Area Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting
  • Noon – 3:30 pm – Arts and Crafts
  • 1:00 pm – Fallen Officers Memorial at Game Warden Museum
  • 2:00 pm and 7:00pm – Brian Glow: International Illusionist and Comedy Magician
  • 3:00 pm and 5:30 pm – Live Music
  • Throughout the Day
    • Food trucks and cafe specials
    • Traditional Indigenous and Métis Presentations
    • Manitoba Living History Society Village and Settler Demonstrations
    • Historical exhibits about the Garden’s history throughout the grounds
    • Lawn games
  • 8:30 pm – Live Music: The Incredibly Hip Band
  • 10:30 pm – Fireworks
